Hi everyone my name is Mariah, I am a fifth year Marketing major at CSU Chico and am very excited to be graduating this semester. I started off my college career at College of the Redwoods in Eureka, California. Upon Completion of all my GE courses at the community college, I transferred to Chico State as a junior. My first semester at Chico, I joined the American Marketing Association and participated in several projects to help develop my skills as a business person. I got to meet with many of the recruiters, which came to speak to the organization, on a more personal level. This resulted in my Internship with Enterprise Rent-a-Car. In the spring semester of 2006 I pledged the Professional Coed Business Fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi. Not only has my membership in this organization resulted in some of my closest friends, but also great opportunities to enhance my personal and people management skills.

One of the most exciting things I have probably experienced in my lifetime thus far has been my chance to study abroad. I just recently returned in Mid December from living in Bilbao, Spain for three and a half months. Bilbao, a large part of the Basque territory, is right on the coast of northern Spain. I was privileged with living with an amazing family, who provided me the chance to fully submerge myself in a completely different culture and experience life from a different perspective. During my time abroad I was able to explore Portugal, France, Switzerland, Italy, and several cities around Spain. With my recent return to the United States I am hoping to add a little bit of international flavor to my blogs and hope that it will help to keep you as my readers engaged in the perspectives I develop through out the course of this class.
I am looking forward to writing for you all and hope that my Mariahisms have what it takes to keep you interested.
Until my next post, Agur (Bye in Basque)

Thats awesome you got to go to Spain! My family is Basque, and while I have done a fair amount of travelling I have never visited Spain. I'm looking forward to hearing your perspective on the books we're covering.
